The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Global Library initiative programme is a co-financer of the Trešais tēva dēls project, having invested US$16.2 million in the implementation of the project. Trešais tēva dēls is the Foundation’s pilot project in Europe; to date the Foundation has only worked with libraries in North America and South America. In December 2007, the Foundation also allocated a grant for library development in Lithuania.
